Strength and weakness. We are at our weakest at the beginning of any journey in life. The acorn that must struggle to shed it's shell and prepare to grow strong and tower above the ground. The caterpillar creating its cocoon and toiling to escape so that it might stretch it's wings and become a butterfly. The newly born child dependent for month on our parents for all aspects of our lives. Or the new idea that you need to establish with friends and colleagues Such it is as we strive to improve or change our lives. The seed inside the shell may decide the nut is too tough to crack or the caterpillar who wrapped itself too tightly and can not escape its prison. A child as well can develop a dependence on it's parents, thus making it weak and not prepared to survive on its own. Similar is any path we try. It is easier to feel a lack of strength as we begin any thing new especially when you are trying to change habits. The first mile on a long run or hike, it's easy to convince yourself that you can't or don't want to go on. After all, how far have you come? The further you go, the more difficult it becomes to turn back because going back requires more strength than reaching the end requires. When you are trying to break a habit, the first few steps(or days) are the toughest. You're not far enough down the path to see the end and the start is so close it takes no time to go back to the beginning. That is the weakness. The strength comes when you know what you need to do, what path you must take, seeing in your mind's eye that far off destination and keeping going. There will be many times when you consider going back but by now you have come too far to fail and you want to behold the end of your journey. Ideas good or bad die because they don't get passed the point of no return. Until that point even a good idea is weak. Internal strength is just 1 thing we need to affect the outcome. If you look at a forest, those trees stand strong because they stand together. The strength to change an idea or ourselves begins with our inner strength but most will quickly lose momentum unless we surround ourselves with strong trees — which are friends and family — they are your support and will get you to your goals. #THiNK strength. Know your strengths and weaknesses, then surround yourself with the people who can fill in your gaps. Do this and you will have every chance to succeed at anything, I would love to hear your thoughts. Please take a minute to comment.
